This is largely due to the combination of her silvery toned voice and charming stage presence. On the concert platform she is particularly famed for her interpretation of Scandinavian music, whilst on the operatic stage she regularly receives acclaim not only for her singing but for her powerful acting ability. She regularly works with conductors such as Mariss Jansons, Zubin Mehta, Sir Simon Rattle, Herbert Blomstedt, Neeme Järvi, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Claudio Abbado, Sir Neville Marriner and Sir Colin Davis. Her appearances include the San Francisco Opera, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Liceu in Barcelona, Covent Garden, numerous performances at the Metropolitan Opera, the Salzburg, Aix-en-Provence and Glyndebourne festivals and with orchestras such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Leipzig Gewandhaus and the Israel Philharmonic. |
