He started to learn the piano at 5, and studied ‘classically’ until the age of 21. He also became passionate about jazz when he discovered Errol Garner and Oscar Peterson. At 15, he heard Bill Evans for the first time, who then became his personal source of inspiration. Thanks to Evans, he discovered possibilities of making links between jazz and classical music. This is something that he has not ceased to explore deeper since then, over the course of more than 20 albums that have displayed his talents as a lyrical, ‘swinging’ pianist as also as a subtle composer who is an exceptional melodist. |
