He took private recorder lessons from Markus Zahnhausen from 1995 to 2000 while studying music education at the Munich Musikhochschule. He is presently studying the recorder with Pedro Memelsdorff at the Escola Superior de Müsica, Barcelona. He has won prizes at such international events as the ERTA Competition (2000) and the Moeck SRP Solo Competition in London (2001). Bartholomé’s many concerts and recordings for radio and CD have taken him throughout Germany and abroad, including appearances at the Moscow Autumn Festival and the St. Petersburg Spring Festival. He has performed in duet with Markus Zahnhausen at the Herbert von Karajan Center in Vienna and in Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. One focal point of his work, besides pre-1750 music, is the music of the present day. He has given world premieres of works by Markus Zahnhausen, Walter Mays, Günter Kochan, Hans Stadlmair, Rodion Shchedrin and Vladisláv Kazénin.
